I started Essential Mobility because I saw too many families struggle to find honest, local help with stairlifts, elevators and mobility equipment. Big national companies would quote over the phone and send a stranger, I wanted to do the opposite.

Will a stairlift or home elevator require major changes to my home?
In most cases, no. A stairlift mounts directly to your stairs, not the wall, and installs in a few hours with no structural work. A Stiltz freestanding home elevator needs no shaft, no pit, and no major construction. We take care to protect your home during every installation and leave it clean when we're done.
How quickly can you install a stairlift or mobility solution?
A straight stairlift can be installed the same week you call in many cases, the process takes just 2 to 4 hours. Curved stairlifts need a custom rail and typically take a few weeks plus one day of installation. For urgent situations like a hospital discharge, call us directly and we'll do our best to prioritize your timeline.
Are you licensed, insured, and will you be around if something needs repair?
Yes. Essential Mobility is a licensed California contractor (CA Lic #1113181), fully insured, and an authorized dealer for Bruno, Harmar, and Stiltz. We're locally based in San Luis Obispo, not a national call center. We install it, we service it, and we're a phone call away if anything ever needs attention.

Yes, we repair most major brands of stairlifts, mobility scooters, and power wheelchairs across San Luis Obispo County, even equipment we didn't sell or install.
